After discovering there is a long waiting list for help with adaptations from the local Council, family and friends decided to go down a different route to raise funds.
A Just Giving page was set up by a family friend with the aim of raising £75,000. A committee made up of local residents started Jaime's Journey - who helped project manage the vital home adaptations. Work included widening doorways, lowering worktops in the kitchen, new flooring, and making an accessible bathroom.
As a local company, Front Five volunteered to undertake the MEP work needed to adapt their home to accommodate the rewiring and plumbing needed for the house alterations.
