Front five were appointed to carry out the full mechanical and electrical package to the New Modular Built Accident and Emergency department at Leighton hospital.
The project incorporated a substantial amount off-site prefabrication work which was required to aid a speedy delivery of the new A&E department in the midst of a global pandemic. Bespoke prefab skids were installed to corridor areas, with prefab pipe work used for plant areas.
The New A&E department was built during the worst global pandemic in a century with
the need to get the department open as quickly and safely as possible; modular and
prefab construction methods were key in getting the project over the line.
On top of the standard M&E packages, Front Five undertook a number of specialist installations including medical gas, pneumatic tube, nurse call, IPS, and UPS Systems.
